Brand new MOVE IT and Capezio Dance Championships

  • February 1, 2017

This March 10-12 is the UK’s biggest dance event, MOVE IT, featuring three jam-packed days of performances, classes, career advice, celebrities, interviews and shopping. Held at Excel London, MOVE IT will offer exciting opportunities for 25,000 dancers of all levels in all forms of dance.

Brand new for this year’s MOVE IT is the MOVE IT & Capezio Dance Championships, which will take place each day. The search is on for raw, exciting, new talent from across the UK! And the event will see an all-star roster of judges, including Dance Mums’ Jennifer Ellison, choreographers Ryan Jenkins and Lukas McFarlane, and Marlon “Swoosh” Wallen of street dance troupe Flawless.

The championship is open to soloists, duets, trios and groups from various cities and dance studios, with the hopes of bringing together dance’s vast communities in one place and celebrating the shared passion of dance.

MOVE IT & Capezio Dance Championships aims to welcome prominent dance artists as well as up-and-coming stars, and all in between. In this way, the event will help foster an inspiring environment showcasing and encouraging hard work and artistic growth.

“This will be an amazing show that brings the world of dance together under one roof,” says Capezio Sales and Marketing Director Maddy Gladman. “The competition is a fabulous opportunity for up-and-coming dancers to be inspired for the career path they have chosen to take.”

The all-star judging panel will lend their feedback and expertise, with their diverse backgrounds in stage work, television, competition and entertainment.

Maddy says that the judges are looking for “that special outstanding quality each individual dance can bring. Every routine we judge will be unique, and we are looking for skill, creativity and a shining star or stars.”

Prizes for MOVE IT & Capezio Dance Championships include a cash prize of €500, goody bags and a chance to perform on the MOVE IT main stage. Participants will also compete for the coveted “Face of Capezio” prize.

“The winner will be featured by us here at Capezio on all of our social media sites and will be featured in our 2018 catalogue, which is distributed across the UK and Europe,” Maddy says.
